An intentionally slower approach to photographing your family

Investing in your Atlanta Newborn And Family Photography

Choosing a photographer is an investment — both of time and resources. As a busy mama building something meaningful for her own family and community, I have deep respect for both. That’s why I don’t book sessions back-to-back and instead tailor each photography experience intentionally for the family in front of my camera.

My goal is to make the experience as seamless and decision-light as possibl.

I encourage families early on to plan their investment in a way that leaves room for printed artwork.  Photographs deserve more than a quiet corner of the cloud.

They become the fingerprints of a life well lived: pages turned again and again, tear-stained, laughter-filled and deeply loved.

Newborn Session Investment

In-home newborn sessions are intentionally relaxed and typically last 2.5–3.5 hours (including setup and breakdown), allowing time to capture both softly posed newborn portraits AND natural lifestyle images of your family. You don’t have to choose between baby-only photos or meaningful family images — you’ll receive both in one thoughtfully guided session, all within the comfort of your home.

Your session fee covers:

• Pre-session consultations, guides and communication to plan around your home, styling and vision
• Thoughtful curation of newborn sets from my styling inventory
• Setup and breakdown of studio equipment in home
• Travel to your home within the metro Atlanta area
• A relaxed, baby-led newborn session designed to follow your baby’s rhythm
• Professional editing and refinement of your images
• A curated online proofing gallery where you’ll select your favorite images for your chosen collection

If a slower, more intentional photography experience feels like a good fit for you and your people, let’s get connected.

We booked with Jess on a whim and a desire for last minute family photos and WOW. We are so thrilled with how our photos came out!! During our session, Jess was so kind and patient with our shy toddler, helped to create candid moments and was perfectly particular about lighting and background settings. Jess has given us photos that we will treasure for a lifetime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located and do you travel?

Yes. I photograph families throughout the metro Atlanta area, including Gwinnett County, Decatur, Tucker, Peachtree Corners, Alpharetta, Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Roswell and Dunwoody. My newborn sessions are all done in-home so I can offer both posed AND family photos in one session, an approach that truly sets me apart.

I call Lilburn home, and travel within about 45 minutes of there included. Sessions outside that area may include a small travel fee.

Newborn sessions are best reserved during pregnancy, typically during the second or early third trimester. Because I photograph a limited number of families each month, availability can fill several months ahead…and I hate saying no to new mamas (well, anyone really!) So reach out early.

For family and maternity sessions, booking 6 – 12 weeks in advance usually provides enough flexibility for scheduling. If you have your heart set on fall, like a lot of families, I suggest reaching out sooner.

Don’t worry — you won’t have to figure that out on your own.

Once your session is booked, I’ll provide guidance on wardrobe and help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and feel true to your family’s style. I’m always happy to look over options or help coordinate colors so everything feels cohesive without looking overly styled.

The goal is for everyone to feel comfortable, confident and like themselves.

Outdoor sessions always come with a little flexibility. I keep a close eye on the forecast and typically make a final call about two hours before your scheduled session time.

If conditions are unsafe — heavy rain, lightning or severe weather — we’ll simply reschedule. If the weather is mild or passing (light clouds, cooler temperatures or the chance of a brief shower), we’ll usually move forward as planned.

Sometimes those slightly overcast skies actually create the most beautiful light and I have super cute clear umbrellas!

No. The session fee reserves your date and covers the planning, preparation and photography experience itself.

After your session, you’ll receive a curated proofing gallery of professionally edited images where you can select the collection that best fits your family.

Separating the session fee allows families flexibility in how they invest in their images. Some families prefer a smaller collection of favorites, while others want their full gallery or heirloom artwork for their home.

This structure keeps the session experience thoughtful and intentional while allowing you to decide what matters most after viewing your gallery.

It also allows me to spend my time wisely, providing precision edits on only the images that really resonate with your family.

Yes. Many families reserve their session during pregnancy or several months in advance, which allows time to spread payments out before final images are delivered.

If a payment plan would be helpful for your family, I’m always happy to discuss options.

If you choose a digital collection, your images will include personal printing rights so you’re welcome to print them on your own if you prefer.

That said, I highly recommend ordering artwork through the studio whenever possible. Professional printing ensures your images are produced with the same color, quality and materials they were carefully edited for.

I can’t guarantee the quality of consumer labs. We’ve all run into the dreaded “I bought digitals and had them printed and the colors look weird” issue, myself included!

If you’ve invested your time and resources into this experience, the quality of your printed products should reflect that.

This is SO important. My work tends to resonate with families who value a slower, more personalized photography experience. (You’ll notice I don’t promote seasonal mini sessions or pop-ups, and if I do, they are occasional and intentional.)

If you’re looking for something quick or highly structured, there may be photographers who are a better fit. But if you want a session that feels relaxed, thoughtfully guided and focused on genuine connection, you’ll likely feel right at home here.

And if you’re unsure, I’m a big fan of connection calls (I do them with everyone in fact). It may feel a little old-school, but it gives you the chance to hear my voice, ask questions, address any hesitations and get a feel for me as a person — not just as a photographer.
