The Importance of Choosing a Newborn Photographer That Fits Your Family There’s no shortage of talented newborn photographers in Atlanta. I’d argue there are so many of us that it can feel overwhelming for an expecting mom to decide who to hire. How do you choose a newborn photographer that’s right for you? Do you […]
As an intentional Atlanta newborn photographer, my styling inventory removes the need to plan outfits for your baby AND ensures posed, studio-style newborn portraits have a coordinated, curated look. When I first started Jessica Grace Photography, newborn photography wasn’t on my radar. I would do a few lifestyle sessions here and there, focusing mainly on […]

Artificial intelligence is wild and it’s talked about A LOT in the photography world. It can invent backgrounds that never existed. It can smooth skin, sharpen eyelashes and generate portraits that are almost impossible to distinguish from reality. It also helps newborn photographers remove baby acne a little easier. It uses a lot of energy […]

Advice from an Atlanta family photographer on taking photos at Prospect Farms Prospect Farms is one of the most sought-after photo locations in metro Atlanta — and for good reason. The setups are stunning, the light is beautiful and the owners work hard to keep everything in top shape. But as with any popular venue, […]

Every year when the air shifts (just barely here in Georgia) and pumpkins start showing up on porches, photographers all around Atlanta prepare for the busiest season of the year. Fall family photos. Holiday minis. Christmas tree farms. Back-to-back sessions with quick turnarounds so families have cards in hand by early December. I’ve done it. […]

Fall is THE most desired time family photos in Gwinnett and across metro Atlanta. The season promises crisp air, golden leaves, cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice everything. For many families, it feels like the time to finally book those portraits. But here’s the thing—fall family sessions rarely unfold exactly how you imagine. The truth is, […]

What a postpartum doula really does—and why it matters more than you think The days and weeks after welcoming a new baby are tender and emotional—and often completely overwhelming. Between feedings, healing, sleep deprivation and figuring out what your baby needs (and what you need), it’s easy to feel like the world expects you to […]

In a baby-led newborn session, your little one sets the tone — not a timer, checklist or rigid pose plan. I’m a lifestyle newborn photographer based in Lilburn, GA and my goal is simple: to create gentle, meaningful portraits that reflect your baby as they are, in this season—sleepy, squishy, alert, cuddly or even cluster-feeding […]

If black is your comfort color, you’re not alone. My closet is full of it — and honestly, I love it. Wearing black in photos has been my go-to before. It’s classic, forgiving and just feels like the easiest option most days. But first… Why I Often Discourage Black in Session Styling While black can […]

Atlanta motherhood photographer reflects on a tender minisession at Evermore Studio Every now and then, I feel the tug to make room for families who want something simpler, shorter, or more accessible than my usual offerings. And in the spring of 2025, I felt that tug more than usual. I booked a studio space in […]

As a family photographer (and a mom of two young kids), I’ve learned that the best family photo sessions rarely come from perfectly posed moments. They coe from kids being themselves—wiggly, curious, cautious, energetic, silly or slow to warm up. That’s why my sessions are always child-led. It’s also why I do something very different […]

I cannot begin to thank Jessica for all the time and effort she put into this process. From coming to meet our nervous dog, Watson and figure out our style, to the numerous requests for assistance selecting all of our outfits. Numerous is an understatement. Furthermore, all the wonderful direction Jessica gave us since we were clearly clueless when it came to actually taking pictures and allowing us to include Watson was priceless. We cannot forget the time and effort Jessica put into scouting a location that would yield the best images and then having a backup when we didn’t think one would be needed!
I am beyond fortunate to have been given this opportunity for maternity photos when it wasn’t something I was even considering doing. I am so appreciative of Jessica making me look and feel comfortable during a time when that isn’t exactly what I was reflecting internally. She did this during my maternity session and newborn photos.
